At our meeting on Thursday 22nd March at Swanwick Lakes, Dr Matt Clarke will tell us about greater horseshoe bat conservation and research in the Purbeck mines. His title is: "The Wild East: Sheriff Rhinolophus hibernating on the frontier". He tells us that "It's about my work for Natural England looking at a stone mine with SSSI status on Purbeck where Greater Horseshoe bats occur, monitoring their presence and looking at concerns over the condition of the mine and maintaining bat access at the edge of their range in the UK".  There will also be updates on current and future Hampshire Bat Group projects. Please remember to submit your contributions to our newsletter 'Bat Droppings'.
